Yavatmal:- With the onset of summer, the risk of various diseases is likely to increase in the hot sun. The increasing heat can cause health problems like sweating, headache, diarrhea, dehydration in the body due to lack of water, and constipation. Therefore, Dr. Umesh S. Joge, Professor and Head of the Department of Janaushadhi Medicine at Shri Vasantrao Naik Government Medical College and Hospital, Yavatmal, has appealed to the citizens to take care of their health during the summer days.

Problems like dizziness, eye irritation, heatstroke, dehydration, and heatstroke can be experienced in summer. Therefore, it is necessary to maintain a proper diet and routine instead of depending only on fans or ACs. It is necessary to drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water daily to keep the body hydrated.

Avoid spicy foods, junk food, fast food and Chinese food in summer. Instead, include green vegetables, coriander, fruits in your diet. Also, drinks like homemade sweet sherbet, lemonade, cucumber juice, buttermilk and whey should be used.

Avoid going out in the sun between 12 noon and 3 pm if possible. Wear a hat, sunglasses and wear cotton clothes while going out, which is good for health. Farmers should do their agricultural work early in the morning or after 5 pm, so that they can avoid the scorching sun. Also, since a large number of children, women and the elderly participate in social functions and weddings in summer, the organizers should make a proper arrangement of clean drinking water. This will help prevent water-borne diseases.

Citizens should take special care of their health during summer. If any health problem arises, they should go to the nearest health center and seek treatment, appealed to the citizens of the district by Dr. Umesh S. Joge, Head of the Department of Janaushadh Medicine under the guidance of Dean Dr. Prashant Uike.
