SSC Exam Answer Sheet Smuggling Racket Busted in Amravati

AMRAVATI: – In a shocking breach of examination security, a high-ranking education official and a teacher have been booked for allegedly attempting to "smuggle" Class 10 (SSC) English answer sheets from a custody center in Anjangaon Surji.

The incident occurred at the Sitabai Sangai High School examination center following the English paper held on February 27. According to board regulations, all answer sheets must be sealed and submitted to custody by 5:00 PM on the day of the exam.

However, during a surprise inspection at 4:40 PM, Deputy Education Officer Rajani Shirbhate noticed suspicious activity at the paper storage room. Upon investigation, two answer sheets (one English medium and one Urdu medium) were found hidden inside the trousers of a private laborer, Anil Hadole.

The police have filed an FIR against five individuals involved in the conspiracy. Sudhir Khode an Extension Education Officer (holding charge as Group Education Officer) who has been arrested. Anil Hadole a private laborer found in possession of the stolen papers; also arrested. Sushil Abhyankar a Zilla Parishad school teacher, who is currently reported as absconding. Two Unidentified Students Investigation is underway to identify the candidates for whom the theft was orchestrated.

The Anjangaon Surji Police, led by SDPO Manish Thakare and Senior Inspector Suraj Bonde, are investigating the depth of this racket. Preliminary reports suggest a criminal breach of trust and fraud against the state government by officials who were entrusted with maintaining the transparency of the board exams.

Authorities are now working to determine if this was an isolated incident or part of a larger organized network operating within the district.
