NAGPUR: A shocking case of violence has emerged from the Ashinagar area of North Nagpur, where a teacher at Kidwai High School and Junior College was allegedly subjected to a murderous attack by his own Principal and another individual.
The victim, identified as Sagir Ahmed, a teacher at the minority-status institution, was reportedly assaulted with a steel rod. The attack was so severe that Ahmed sustained critical injuries and was immediately rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC). He is currently undergoing treatment in the Trauma Care Unit.
According to the victim’s statement, the motive behind the attack is linked to a long-standing extortion racket. Sagir Ahmed alleged that the School Principal, Majib Pathan, and an associate named Mutazzim Khan, had been forcibly collecting ₹30,000 per month from his salary.
The dispute reportedly escalated following a recent state-wide crackdown. After the controversial granting of minority status to 75 schools in a single day—a decision made shortly after the accidental demise of Ajit Pawar—the state government ordered a high-level inquiry into the irregularities within minority-run institutions.
Following these orders, Sagir Ahmed stopped paying the monthly "commission" to the Principal. This refusal allegedly angered the accused, leading to the violent confrontation at the school premises.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the educational fraternity in Nagpur. Local authorities are investigating the allegations of extortion and the circumstances of the physical assault. While the victim battles for recovery, calls for strict action against the school management are growing louder.
