Pune: The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), also known as Vidya Pradhikaran, has organized training sessions for teachers of Class 2, 3, and 4 regarding the new curriculum. This step has been taken for the effective implementation of the new syllabus, which will be introduced from the 2026-27 academic year. Attendance is mandatory for all concerned teachers for this training starting May 4.

The new academic year is scheduled to begin on June 15, 2026. The government aims to complete the training for all teachers before this date. The training will be conducted in three phases: State level, District level, and Taluka level.

State Level: May 4 to May 7, 2026 (For Marathi and Urdu mediums).

District Level: May 11 to May 14, 2026 (For Marathi and other mediums).

Taluka Level: May 18 to May 30, 2026 (For Marathi and other mediums).

For the Urdu medium, the training will be conducted only at two levels—State and District. The Joint Director has issued orders to all Regional Vidya Pradhikarans and District Institutes of Education and Training (DIET) to immediately submit the names of district-level facilitators. The primary objective of this training is to ensure teachers face no difficulties while teaching the new curriculum in classrooms and to make the pedagogical process smoother.

The duration of the training has been fixed at 3 days for Class 2 teachers and 4 days for Class 3 and 4 teachers. Training sessions for Marathi, Urdu, and all other mediums will be conducted either independently or in coordination. While the training duration for Class 2 is shorter, the start date for the training of all classes remains the same.
