Yavatmal: Collector Vikas Meena paid a surprise visit to the District Civil Surgeon's office today. During the visit, he reviewed the functioning of the medical reimbursement bill section in the office. A large number of pending medical bills belonging to the district's government officers and employees over the past year came to light during the inspection.
Earlier in September, Collector Vikas Meena had conducted two review meetings regarding the settlement of these pending bills, resulting in the clearance of 178 medical reimbursement claims. However, a significant number of cases remained unresolved even after that.
Upon carrying out a direct inspection and thorough check, the Collector discovered that more than 200 cases were still pending. Citing a clear violation of the time limits prescribed under the Right to Public Services Act, Collector Vikas Meena directed the immediate suspension of the clerk handling the reimbursement portfolio.
This decisive action by the Collector serves as a strong warning to officers and employees who delay official work and violate the Right to Public Services Act.
