ZP Branch Engineer Arrested by ACB for Bribery.

Yavatmal:-The complainant personally visited the office of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Yavatmal, and filed a complaint. The complainant stated that they work as a registered government contractor executing projects for the Zilla Parishad, Public Works Department (PWD), Water Resources Department, and other government departments.
The complainant had secured two contracts through an online tender: constructing a parking shed and arranging parking facilities adjacent to the Mechanical/Engineering Department within the Zilla Parishad Administrative Building premises.
To get the remaining final payment released for both works, and to have the Measurement Book (M.B.) signed and the Work Completion Certificate (CC) issued, the officiating Branch Engineer of Zilla Parishad Construction Sub-division No. 1, Mr. Madhusudan Tajane, demanded a bribe of Rs. 25,000. Following this, the contractor filed a formal complaint at the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Yavatmal office.
Based on the complaint, trap-laying officers conducted a verification of the bribe demand. During this verification, the accused public servant Mr. Madhusudan Tajane, Branch Engineer, Zilla Parishad Construction Sub-division No. 1, negotiated and agreed to accept a compromised bribe amount of Rs. 10,000 to sign the M.B. and issue the Work Completion Certificate (CC).
Accordingly, during a trap operation carried out today on July 15, 2026, the accused public servant Mr. Madhusudan Tajane was caught red-handed while personally accepting the bribe amount of Rs. 10,000 from the complainant at his office in Zilla Parishad Construction Sub-division No. 1. The process of registering a case against the accused public servant is currently underway at the Yavatmal City Police Station.
This operation was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Bapu Bangar, Superintendent of Police, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Amravati,Mr. Sachindra Shinde, Additional Superintendent of Police, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Amravati.Under the supervision of Mr. Abhay Ashtekar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, ACB Yavatmal and Executed by Mr. Manoj Orke, Police Inspector,Mr. Arjun Ghanvat, Police Inspector,Atul Mate, Police Head Constable,Abdul Wasim, Police Head Constable,Akash Sahare, Police Constable and whole team.
Appeal to Citizens.
The citizens of Yavatmal district are hereby urged that if any government officer/employee (or any private individual acting on their behalf) demands a bribe in addition to the legal government fees for completing any government work, they should immediately contact the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Yavatmal.
