Census 2027 - Phase 1 House Listing to Begin in Yavatmal from May 16

Yavatmal: The administrative machinery in Yavatmal is gearing up for the Census 2027 under the slogan "Jan-ganana se Jan Kalyan"(Census for Public Welfare). Vikas Meena Collector Yavatmal will serve as the Principal Census Officer to oversee the massive exercise.

Approximately 6,000 officers and employees will be directly involved in the census process across the district. The field operations are structured as a total of 4,676 enumerators and 803 supervisors have been appointed.

The census will cover 2,126 rural villages and 255 urban wards. Around 5,007 blocks are being created, with each block consisting of roughly 700–800 people.

To ensure accuracy, a multi-tier training program is currently underway.Master Trainers Completed their training at YASHADA, Pune, from March 14 to 17, 2026.Field Trainers Training for 92 field trainers is currently being held from April 6 to April 11, 2026. Enumerators and supervisors will receive their training at the taluka level between April 27 and May 8, 2026.

The census will be conducted in a phased manner, incorporating digital methods for data collection. Citizens can visit the online portal (se.census.gov.in) to submit their details from May 1 to May 15, 2026. From May 16 to June 14, 2026, enumerators will visit every household to conduct house listing and fill out online questionnaires.In Phase II  the final population count is scheduled to take place in February 2027.

The administration has urged citizens to cooperate with the visiting officers to ensure a comprehensive and successful census.
