MUMBAI:-The Ministry, Mumbai, has issued an urgent weather warning for the district, forecasting moderate thunderstorms accompanied by surface winds reaching speeds of 30–40 km/h within the next three hours.

Authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions as the sudden shift in weather could lead to localized disruptions.

The administration has released a set of safety protocols to minimize risk during the storm. If you are outdoors, move to a sturdy building immediately. Avoid standing under trees, near old walls, or temporary tin sheds, as high winds may cause them to collapse. Stay away from electric transformers, poles, and dangling wires to prevent accidents related to electrocution. Commuters, especially two-wheeler riders, are advised to halt their journey until the winds subside, as strong gusts can cause loss of vehicle control. Residents are encouraged to unplug electronic appliances (TVs, refrigerators, computers) to protect them from potential power surges caused by lightning. Ensure that items kept on balconies or terraces (like flower pots or furniture) are moved indoors or secured tightly.

The Ministry emphasizes that public safety is the top priority and requests everyone to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary.
