Students Deliver 'On-the-Spot Justice' to Pervert College HOD

Yavatmal (Maharashtra): In a shocking incident that has tarnished the reputation of the education sector, a Head of Department (HOD) at a prominent technical education college on Amravati Road was caught harassing a female student.

The HOD of the Chemical Department had been allegedly harassing the student for several days by sending obscene messages and objectionable videos to her personal mobile number.

On February 2, 2026, the accused teacher crossed all limits by attempting to physically molest the student in his cabin.

After the victim showed the evidence of the messages and videos to her classmates, a group of angry students stormed the HOD’s cabin. When he responded arrogantly instead of apologizing, the students took matters into their own hands and thrashed him with slippers and punches.

Reports suggest that the victim is a close relative or associate of a powerful minister in the district. Following the incident, the minister's Private Secretary (PA) rushed to the college to take stock of the situation.

Recognizing the sensitivity of the case, the Yavatmal District Superintendent of Police and the Lohara Police team arrived at the campus. The accused HOD has been taken into custody for further investigation.

The college campus currently remains under tense security. Parents and students are questioning the safety of female students within the institution, especially as similar incidents have been reported in the past under the same management. Students have warned that they will not back down until the accused teacher is officially suspended and booked under strict legal charges.
